The thought process this Diwali!

The city is rejoicing in the Festive Spirit. The noisy crackers, the fireworks in the sky, children screaming out in delight…. (and also a lot of smoke in the air ugh!)
Standing outside, watching the dazzling display of colours, I realise that my family is one of the only two in this street, who are outside the house - having fun.

Where is every one else? No – I’m not saying that everyone should buy crackers and light them, but at least they can participate in the celebration.
Ok, so if u believe in not polluting the air, I bow down to your noble thought. In this case, the least you can do is - Wish others on the joyous occasion.

I’ve been staying in this very place for over 15 years now and I hardly know who stays next door.
Why are we isolating ourselves in this manner? God forbid, in case of an emergency or when in need, who will we go to?
May be its time for me to go around with sweets - wishing people for Diwali…
hm.... that should be a good start :)
Have a lovely Diwali!
May people realise the value of togetherness & assert their sense of belonging!
